After completing his Bachelors in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (Hons.) from the Banaras Hindu University in the year 1954, he did his Masters in Statistics from the Bombay University in the year 1956.

After having serviced at the Standard Vacuum Oil company (STANVAC), a multinational company, he entered into the field of steel manufacturing by setting up his own company GB Springs Pvt. Ltd. in the year 1985. Under his exemplary leadership the company has earned distinctive respect over the years.

He holds to his credit the foundation of the GB Springs Pvt. Ltd. & GB Petro Consultants Pvt. Ltd., organizations which aim to bring together different people with a rich experience at manufacturing various Rail Equipments & Oil field Equipments. He had the privilege of being a member on the Steel Panel of the ISI Board for three years.
